Through Partners in Education, the Junior League of Columbus has adopted Wynnton Arts Academy, where almost 90% of the student population is eligible for free lunch. The JLC has provided educational and enrichment opportunities for students with activities such as developing an Arts/Career Day, serving as room readers, participating in the Backpacks of Grace project, and facilitating holiday-time Adopt a Family. Junior League members strive meet the students’ most basic needs by conducting uniform, food basket, and hat and glove drives. The JLC also provides recognition of the staff, by providing snacks and gifts for teachers and gives and coordinating luncheons.
